URGENT SUPPORT

If you or somebody else may be in immediate danger, TAIU is not the place to wait.

Contact the emergency services where you are, go somewhere safer if you can, or ask somebody you trust to stay with you while you get help.

TAIU can help you reflect, but it is not an emergency service and it cannot keep you safe in real time.

In the UK, in immediate danger

In the UK, call 999 if there is immediate danger. If you cannot speak on a mobile call, press 55 when prompted.

Urgent mental health support

If you are in the UK and need urgent mental-health support, call NHS 111 and select the mental-health option. Samaritans can be reached on 116 123.

Violence and abuse

If somebody is hurting, threatening, controlling or frightening you, consider whether it is safe to use this device. Do not confront them because TAIU suggested it. Get somewhere safer and contact specialist support when you can.

Outside the UK

If you are outside the UK, contact the emergency services or crisis service where you are.

If there is no immediate danger and you want somewhere to put what is happening into words, you can return to TAIU when you are ready.
