SPEAKING

Most talks give people an answer. This one changes the question.

Mark Eve speaks about the choices people and organisations make before they notice they have ruled anything out.

The talk begins with a simple problem. We keep trying to solve one part of a life or organisation as if it stands alone. It rarely does.

The Alternative Is Unthinkable

Why do intelligent people keep choosing between the same two answers?

This talk looks at the assumptions beneath a decision, the cost we count when we leave, the cost we ignore when we stay and the alternative that was dismissed before it was properly examined.

The audience is not told to change. They leave with a better question and a way to look at the whole Tree.

TAIU and the choices people keep carrying

WHOSE IDEA OF SUCCESS ARE YOU LIVING?

How definitions inherited from family, work and culture continue to shape what people chase long after the definition has stopped fitting.

SEE THE WHOLE TREE

Why work, money, health, love and family cannot be understood as separate lives and what becomes visible when they are put back together.

WHAT ARE YOU PROTECTING?

The difference between keeping something because it is still right and keeping it because too much else would move if it changed.

LEADERSHIP AND THE UNTHINKABLE ALTERNATIVE

How organisations repeat a familiar answer, defend the story that produced it and miss the option sitting outside the room.

Business and building

WHAT IT REALLY TAKES TO BUILD ACROSS MARKETS

The decisions, compromises and wrong turns that do not fit neatly into the success story told afterwards.

WHEN THE BUSINESS HAS OUTGROWN THE STORY THAT BUILT IT

How a strength can become a limit when the business changes but its old explanation does not.

FOUNDERS, LEADERSHIP AND THE DECISIONS NOBODY ELSE CAN MAKE

What happens when everybody has advice but the consequence still belongs to you.

BUILDING A GLOBAL BRAND WITHOUT LOSING SIGHT OF THE CUSTOMER

Why international growth needs more than repeating what worked at home.

Enterprise and Britain

WHY GOOD BRITISH IDEAS STRUGGLE TO BECOME BUSINESSES

The gap between invention and enterprise and what gets lost between universities, investors, industry and government.

WHAT FOUNDERS NEED FROM UNIVERSITIES, INVESTORS AND GOVERNMENT

Why each part can be doing good work while the founder is still left joining it together alone.

BUILDING ONE NATIONAL EFFORT AROUND INNOVATION

A practical argument for connecting the people, money and institutions already here.

WHY ENTERPRISE CANNOT REMAIN SOMETHING TAUGHT AFTER SOMEBODY HAS ALREADY STARTED

What changes when young people meet the language of building before they have to learn it under pressure.

Mark Eve

Mark Eve has spent more than twenty years building brands and businesses across countries and cultures. He co-founded 3INA Cosmetics and served as Joint CEO until June 2025. He has built, backed and led businesses from the inside, including serving as International Director at New Look.

TAIU grew from years of watching people define success differently, carry choices they did not entirely make and continue with answers that no longer matched the question.

His talks draw on what actually happened, not a tidy lesson added afterwards.
