Taiu Ltd

Privacy notice

This privacy notice (our privacy policy) explains how Taiu Ltd handles personal data when you use TAIU. It sits alongside our plain-language privacy pages, which describe what the product remembers and how you control it.

Who is responsible

Taiu Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@taiu.co.uk.

What we collect

If you create an account we collect your name and email address and your sign-in credentials. If you write in TAIU we store what you choose to save, including journal entries, conversations, plans and your Tree. We also collect support messages you send us, and limited technical data such as your IP address and device identifiers needed to keep the service secure.

We do not store audio. If you speak instead of type, your browser converts speech to text on your device and only the text you choose to save is kept.

Why we use it

We use this data to create and run your account, to provide the service you ask for, to keep it secure and prevent fraud, to improve the product and to respond to you when you contact us. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a safe and useful service, and, where we ask for it, your consent.

We never read your private writing to analyse you, and we never sell your data or your writing to anyone.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run TAIU, such as hosting and email delivery, each under appropriate safeguards. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record when you buy from us, and receives what it needs to take payment, manage subscriptions, handle tax and issue invoices. We may also share data with professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account and as long as the service needs it. When it is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised. You can delete what you have written at any time, and our privacy pages explain how to delete your information entirely.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to some uses of it and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these, write to us and we will respond within one month where UK or EU law applies.

Because some of our providers are outside the UK and EEA, your data may be transferred internationally. Where it is, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

Security and cookies

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls. TAIU uses only essential cookies needed to run the service. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
